K V Williams

A Celebration of Life service for (Kay Vann), K. V. Williams age 90 of Enid will be 10 am. Thursday at Emmanuel Enid Church with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 pm in the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, OK under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

K. V. was born in Seminole, Oklahoma on December 12, 1929 and passed away early Monday, October 12, 2020 in The Commons. He attended Kendrick public schools. On January 5, 1950, K.V. married Aline McElroy in Chandler, Oklahoma. He went to work for the Petty Co. as a seismograph surveyor for 16 years and after losing a son in a tragic accident in Covington, Virginia, he moved his family back to Oklahoma. On January 7, 1962 he opened his first business, The Dairy Boy in Fairview, OK. Within a few years, he had renamed and expanded his little walk-up hamburger business into a drive-inn called Mug n Jug featuring home-made root beer and onion rings. Over the next several years, he expanded the Mug n Jug Drive Inn across northern Oklahoma and Arkansas. In 1972, he and his partner opened there first convenience store in Cherokee, OK. Today the c-stores K.V. founded are what Oklahoman’s knows as Jiffy Trip. He was a member of Willow View United Methodist Church for over 25 years. He attended Emmanuel Enid for the past 10 years.

K.V. is survived by his wife Bonnie of Enid, three sons; Dr. Chris Williams and wife Dr. Diane Napoli of Gunnison, Colorado, Dr. Scott Williams and wife Patricia of Oklahoma City and Kyle and wife Carol Williams of Enid, Oklahoma, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, one sister Wanda Caldiero and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Aline, son Mark, parents, and brothers Bob and Ed Williams.

Memorials may be made to the United Way of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
