It's summer blockbuster movie time and I'm sure you are wondering which movies to go see. Rather than writing a movie review about Jurassic World and ruin any surprises I'll just give you several great reasons why you should see this movie.

Firstly, I have to admit that I'm a huge Jurassic Park fan and have seen JP 1 and JP3 on so many occasions I've lost count. Jurassic Park: Lost World, aka JP2 is not high on my list of movies to see. JP3 is cool because the main characters in the movie are from none other than Enid, Oklahoma!

If you're wanting to see a summer blockbuster, here are 10 reasons you just drop your dime for Jurassic World.

1.) Theme Music - the Jurassic Park theme song is back! One of my favorite all time music scores for a movie. The JP theme music is another key that ties all of the movies together.

2.) Dinosaurs - the best dinosaur special effects franchise on the planet. The special effects in the JP franchise stand the test of time unlike old monster movies of the past.

3.) Summer Blockbuster - if you're looking for a fun summer movie that let's you sit back and enjoy the ride, JW does the trick! It feels like a BIG movie and is full of action.

4.) The Stars - JW only brings back one original cast member from JP1 so everyone else is new. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are fun to watch and work well together.

5.) The Kids - the JP franchise always includes a kid or two. JW introduces us to two new characters and they're enjoyable to watch. These brothers could have been in Goonies.

6.) Scenery - the jungle and island shots are spectacular just like all of the movies in the JP franchise. I loved the homage to the original JP1 movie set found buried in the jungle.

7.) Speilberg - another movie produced by an iconic producer/director. We get the cinematic feel of a blockbuster in the visuals, sound quality and special effects.

8.) Homage - for those of us that love JP1, we get an array of homage moments to the original in JW. Jeeps, night vision helmet, T-Rex, JP banner, flares and more!

9.) Sequel - nothing will ever top the marvel of the original JP but this sequel jumps to the top of the sequels. This movie stands on its own as well if you've never seen JP1.

10.) Monsters - at its very core, this is one great monster movie. If you've ever enjoyed King Kong or Godzilla you'll be thrilled with the new monsters created for this sequel.

That's it! Grab your movie tickets online and head for the show. I saw Jurassic World in 3D and it was great! 3D really helped bring out the jungle scenes and the dinosaur chases.

Warning: The movie does hold a PG-13 rating due to graphic scenes of dinosaurs snacking on people and a few choice four letter words. It is a little more graphic than JP1 but my 11 and 13 year old daughters were fine. Younger kids may be scared by the very loud dinosaurs scenes and large amount of teeth on screen.
