A Celebration of Life Service for Joyce Lavern Harper, age 89 of Enid, will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2025, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pat Sutherlin officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Joyce Harper, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother was born March 24, 1936, in Union Hills, AR to Luther and Nellie Bannon Shortnacy and passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at home with her family by her side. She married Clarence O. Wise and together they had a son, Jimmy. She married Henry C. Harper in June 1963 and from this marriage they had four daughters.
Joyce was a homemaker and also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, growing flowers and gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, listening to music, and playing poker with her sisters and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry Harper, son Jimmy Wise, great grandson Kabrin Duran, siblings Mary Ann Shortnacy, Daisy Wrinkles, Sue Rowlands, Helen Wrinkles, Margaret Seal, Roger and Luther, Jr. She is survived by her daughters: Lorraine Kimmel, Charolette Harper, Mary Tidball and Kathey Ceass, eleven grandchildren: Tammy Green, Heather Gray, Cathy Randles, Melissa Ketterman, Tabitha Haley, Amanda Wise, Brittianie Randles, Kyle Harper, Skye Tidball, Dillion Ceass, and Grant Ceass, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, and sisters: Beth Wilson, Debbie Brown and Lois Henry.
