Memorial Services for Johnny Eugene Voth, 87, of Kremlin, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 21st at the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church with graveside services following at the Enid Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Johnny was born to Peter H. and Clara E. Voth on August 30, 1932 in Kremlin, Oklahoma and passed away on January 17, 2020 in Enid. Johnny grew up on the Voth Family farms in Kremlin with his two older brothers and younger sister. He accepted Christ in May 1944 and was baptized shortly thereafter in June 1944 as a member of the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. He graduated from Kremlin High School and attended Tabor College and served in the Army stationed in Germany, during the Korean War. He met the love of his life after return from Germany when his sister brought home his future wife as a dinner guest. He married Mary Ann Sherley in Tulsa on December 27, 1957 and recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary.

Johnny was a lifetime resident of Kremlin as a wheat and cattle farmer. He farmed with his two brothers for many years before their families grew and they each began to farm on their own. His goal on any farm was to leave the land in a better condition than how he found it. He was awarded a Chapter Honorary FFA degree from the Kremlin-Hillsdale FFA chapter. Johnny was active in the Kremlin community and served as a member of the Kremlin Coop board of directors. He was a charter member of the Kremlin Lions Club serving as its president from 1982 to 1983. He was named the Kremlin Lions Club Citizen of the Year in 2005. He was a lifetime supporter of the Kremlin-Hillsdale School district. He was a bus driver for the school, maintained its parking lots and was an avid follower of Kremlin-Hillsdale athletic and musical events supporting his children and grandchildren and the children of the Kremlin community.

Johnny loved dogs and enjoyed their companionship, whether in the pickup, on the tractor, the Bank or the Co-op. He was quite proud of his ability to teach each one of them how to sing and digest black licorice nibs. He enjoyed meeting his friends for a morning cup of coffee at the Midway Country Store where he never met a stranger. His kindness extended to pulling many people out of the mud on country roads that clearly stated, “impassable when wet” (usually teenagers) and provided summer employment for many Kremlin teachers and high school kids.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Voth, 3 Children, daughter Janet Streck and husband Mike of Kremlin, daughter Diane Fosmire and husband Andrew of Enid, son Gary Voth and husband Ronald Belanger of Houston. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, David Streck, Johnny Streck, James (Pete) Streck, Matthew Streck, Jake Streck, Maxwell Fosmire, Libby Fosmire, Sophie Fosmire, Karleigh Voth Wells, Laci Voth and Trent Voth, 12 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Virgie Voth, Marsha Slack and Ella Sherley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter H. Voth and Clara E. Voth of Kremlin, brothers Ernest H. Voth and Robert P. Voth and his wife Carol, sister Dorothy Gray and her husband Gene, brother-in-law Don Sherley and nephew, Danny E. Voth.

Memorials may be made to the Kremlins Lion Club or the Kremlin-Hillsdale Academic Enrichment Foundation, with Ladusau-Evans funeral home serving as custodian.
