A memorial service for Jody McFarland will be held at 11:00AM on Friday November 7th at Enid First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating.
Jody Danette (Miller/Mitchell) McFarland was born on September 16, 1950, in Alva, Oklahoma, to Hugh J. (“Sadie”) and Margaret (“Midge”) Reed and passed away peacefully in her home on November 2, 2025 .
A proud graduate of Alva High School’s Class of 1968, Jody carried the strong values and lifelong friendships from her hometown with her throughout her life.
In 1979, she married Mark Mitchell, sharing ten wonderful years together until his passing in 1989. During their marriage, Jody became a loving stepmother to Jennifer and Jeffrey, and together she and Mark were blessed with a daughter, Ashley. In 1999, Jody found love again when she married Greg McFarland, her devoted husband and companion, until her final day.
Jody’s greatest joy came from her family—especially her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and proudly followed to all their activities. Her warmth, humor, and unwavering support made her a beloved presence in the stands, at family gatherings, and in every heart she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Greg; her children Ashley Hellman (Mike) of Waukomis, Jeff Mitchell (Amy) of Bison, Jennifer Doyle (Jimmy) of Lake Cormorent, Mississippi, Mark McFarland of Enid, Keith McFarland (Jana) of Enid and Travis McFarland; grandchildren Reed, Mikenley, Jayla, Nakoa, Sadie and Joseph Hellman; Mark and Eli Mitchell; Zach Doyle; Dalton and Austin McFarland and Heather Mayfield; and great-grandchildren Avery and Wells McFarland. She is also survived by her siblings Cheryl Arthurs (Stewart), Mike Miller (Patti), and H.J. Reed (Gail), as well as many nieces and nephews, along with lifelong friends who all cherished her kindness and companionship.
Jody was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Margaret Reed, and her first husband, Mark Mitchell.
Jody will be remembered for her generous heart, her devotion to family, and her ability to make everyone around her feel loved and valued. Her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to live on through those she so dearly loved.
Memorials may be made to Enid First Church of the Nazarene.
