Joan Heise

October 24, 1931 - October 5, 2021

Celebration of life service for Joan Heise, 89, of Enid, will be 10:00 AM, Monday October 11, 2021 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Dwayne Schroeder officiating. Arrangements and cremation are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Joan was born October 24, 1931, in Pender, Nebraska to William Theodore and Hennie Anna (Lehmkuhl) Tonjes and passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in Enid.

Joan grew up on a farm in northeast Nebraska with her parents and sister. She graduated from Pender High School in 1949. She then attended nurses school and became a Registered Nurse in 1953. On May 29, 1954 she married the love of her life Wayne K. Heise in Fremont, Nebraska. Wayne was in the United States Air Force so they lived in 8 different states and 3 years in Europe. Joan raised there 2 children as they traveled. She helped set up the Womens Crisis Center at the YWCA, and a member of PEO. Joan worked at several different retail jobs around Enid. She was a long tine member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where is was always an active member in all the church affairs. Joan was known by many and loved by all.

Joan is survived by her husband Wayne; her children Jayne Torline and husband Ron of Overland Park, Kansas, and David Heise of Los Angeles, California; grandson Matt S. Jones and wife Ela; and great granddaughter Aryana Jones aka wonder woman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Lois.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund.
