Jerry Eugene Listak Sr.

Friday, March 16th, 1934 - Thursday, July 8th, 2021

A Celebration of Life Service for Jerry Eugene Listak, Sr, age 87, of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Lahoma, will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lahoma, with Pastor Randy Foote officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the United States Air Force, will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Lahoma, OK. The family will receive friends at Ladusau-Evans Chapel on Tuesday, July 13th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jerry passed away peacefully on July 8, 2021, in Independence, Missouri with family at his side. He entered this life on March 16, 1934 in Damon, TX, to Mary Kocurek and Peter Listak (one of six children). As a youngster, Jerry spent time with his father working the farm and picking cotton.

Jerry joined the U.S. Air Force in June 1954, and completed his training as a Jet engine mechanic. He married Anna Waynette (Lindsey) Listak on April 15, 1960. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage, and raised eight children together.
Jerry worked as a driller and a tool pusher in the oilfield throughout his life. He and Waynette settled in Lahoma, OK raising their family.

Jerry enjoyed fishing, being at home and spending time with the grandchildren. When Jerry’s health began to decline, he moved to Independence, Missouri with his daughter Terrie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter & Mary; brothers Vladamir and Patrick; sister, Bessie; daughter, Ginger Willson and daughter, Waynell Goodnight, and son, Jerry, Jr.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Anna Waynette; five daughters: Terrie, Tammara Waynette, Christal, Renee` and Jodell; sister, Vlasta Ludwig and brother, Sidney; many sons-in-law; grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Jerry’s name may be made to Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
