Jean (Wilkinson) Heim

center-149x195-Jean HeimA Celebration of Life for Jean (Wilkinson) Heim, 80, of Enid, will be Thursday, July 14, 2016, 2:00 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom House officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home from 4 to 5PM on Wednesday. Mrs. Heim was born August 25, 1935 in Enid, OK and passed away July 10, 2016.

She was a graduate of Enid High School in 1953. Jean attended Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College at Stillwater, OK (now OSU) and belonged to Chi Omega Sorority. Jean was united in marriage to Bill R. Heim May 27, 1955 at the First Presbyterian Church in Enid. They had a big celebration on their 50th wedding anniversary. She was happily married 61 years.

Jean worked for the George E. Failing Company as a civil service test monitor and a legal stenographer. She was fortunate to be able to work as a federal civilian for the Air Force at Vance AFB. She started in Civilian Personnel and then worked in Family Support helping military members and military spouses move or separate from the military. She loved working for the Air Force and got great personal satisfaction from working in Family Support as the Transition Assistance Program Manager and the Career Focus Program Manager. She retired with 25 years of service. She was recognized with an “Award of Excellence” from the Air Force and Recognition from the Muskogee Regional Office of the Department of Veterans Affairs, for dedication to the VA Pre-Discharge Program at Vance Air Force Base.

Jean was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and was active in Parrish Workers Guild, Mary Martha Society, and Lutheran’s Women’s Missionary League, LWML. She loved her church and the church family as well as her family, husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and especially babies. She was active in environmental causes including Save the Cimarron, and enjoyed playing cards including Bridge Club and Pitch Club, dancing, and going to the lake. She was fortunate to do a lot of traveling and loved it. She loved helping with the family farm operation.

She is survived by son, David Heim and wife Melinda of Covington with 4 grandchildren; Steven and wife Kaylea of Perry. Kathleen and husband Steven Smith of Perkins, Jonathan and fiancé Autumn of Bison, and Matthew and fiancé Natalie of Covington and 5 great grandchildren, son, Michael Heim of Enid with 3 grandchildren; Michele and spouse Troy Reed of Enid, Rebecca Hammer of Edmond, Max and spouse Crystal of Enid and 7 great grandchildren and daughter, Dr. Jennifer Heim-Ricciardi and spouse Rick of Sedalia, CO and 1 granddaughter, Kaitlyn and sister Ruth Mary Murphy, of Arvada, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents Granvle and Helen Wilkinson, infant brother John Lee Wilkinson and daughter-in-law Rhonda Heim.

Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church building fund with Ladusau-Evans as custodian of the funds.
