JC Cooley

June 5, 1939 - April 20, 2024

JC Cooley, aged 84, passed away on April 20, 2024. Born on June 5, 1939, in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Chester and Evelena (Patton) Cooley, he grew up alongside his sister, Rita (Cooley) Seaman, in the Quinlan and Richmond areas.

JC graduated from Richmond High School in 1957. In 1960, in Seiling, Oklahoma, he married Karen Williamson with whom he raised three children, Ronda, Sonya, and Kyle. In Seiling, JC worked at the meat locker and the sale barn and as a veterinary technician for Dr. Gene Decker. Later, JC worked at livestock auctions in Woodward and Fairview, Oklahoma, and was a highly trusted cattle buyer for individuals and several slaughterhouses, including Caviness and Cornhusker.

In 1992, JC married Sandy (Anderson) Cooley in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and added Tami Anderson Velarde to the family as his stepdaughter. JC and Sandy enjoyed each other’s company, traveling, and watching OU sports.

JC was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Karen, his sister Rita and two half-brothers, Ray Brewer and Chester Lynn Cooley. JC is survived by his wife Sandy of the home, his three children, Ronda Brien (Michael), Sonya McDonald (Tom), and Kyle, his stepdaughter Tami (Raul), 12 grandchildren, Jeremiah (Cyndi), Jennifer (Andy), Jess, Julie (Hannah), Erika, Jamie (Derreck), Hannah (Bruce), Lacey, Lindsey (Nick), Zach (Megan), Jordan (Kjelcea), Nikole (Tom), 21 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, including his sister-in-law Connie Hull, and friends.

A celebration of JC’s life will be held on April 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Faith Center Fellowship, Meno, Oklahoma, with Pastor Cody Anderson officiating. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the donor's choice.

JC was a hard-working and conscientious man. His kindness, quiet strength of character, and integrity will forever remain in our hearts. May God bless JC eternally as he rests in peace, knowing he was dearly loved.
