Jason Mark Toews

Sunday, August 2nd, 1953 - Friday, June 25th, 2021

Jason Mark Toews was born on August 2, 1953 in Enid, Oklahoma to Calvin and Bertha Toews. He passed away peacefully on June 25, 2021 in Yukon, Oklahoma after a long health battle. Jason graduated from Carrier High School in 1971. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Milbers, in 1973 and they both graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1975. Jason became the Ag teacher at Ames High School for 2 years before deciding to join his father to help operate the family farm. Along with his father and his brother Jim they made Toews Farms a great family operation which was no doubt a labor of love. He was such a hardworking man, even after retiring from farming he worked at Chisholm Public School as a groundskeeper and at On the Ball Pilot Car Service. He volunteered his time at the Yukon Manna Pantry, FUMC Yukon Methodist Men’s group, and as the pool manager for the Silver Eagle HOA. Jason was a true family man, excellent judge of character, and was the first one to show up whenever anyone needed a helping hand. He was the best husband, father, brother, but his all-time favorite role was Papa. His granddaughter, Addison, was his favorite ice cream date. That role would later grow to add three bonus granddaughters…which just means more ice cream!

Jason is survived by his wife, Charlotte, of Yukon, son Justin Toews and wife Amy of Vici, daughter Ginger and husband Chris Halsrud of Yukon, a brother Jim Toews and significant other Cindy Milacek of Enid, granddaughter Addison Halsrud of Yukon and bonus granddaughters Madison, Allison, and Jordan Bashlor of Yukon, aunt Sophia Thesman of Enid and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Bertha Toews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chisholm Young Farmers with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Ladusau-Evans Chapel on Monday, June 28th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Kirt Moelling officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
