Interment will be in the Aline Star Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, and officiated by Pastor Len R. Coulter.

Janet Dean Sims was born to Floyd Dean and Vivian Gladys (Hager) Sims on August 28, 1944, in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Janet died peacefully on February 19, 2022 at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 77.
She grew up on a farm south of Aline and attended Aline Public Schools, graduating in 1962. While in high school, she played basketball and was named Miss Aline, competing in the Cinderella pageant at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1961. After graduating high school, she attended NWOSU.

She married the love of her life, Cliff Seifert, on September 21, 1963. After short stents in Altus and Oklahoma City, they moved to North Enid where they made their home and raised two children, Tava and Tad.
Janet was employed by Central National Bank and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, but left those jobs to be at home with their two children. After they became school age, Janet returned to the workforce for the remainder of her 23-year career with the North Enid/Chisholm Public School District. She helped develop the Super Sounder Reading Program at the elementary, worked as an administrative secretary at the high school, and completed her career as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, retiring in 2002.

Janet was active in various committees at Emmanuel Baptist and served as a greeter for several years. She also accompanied Cliff on three water-well-drilling mission trips to Niger, Africa.
She enjoyed the annual jeep outings with her immediate family in the mountains of Silverton, Colorado. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various activities.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Cliff; children Tava Seifert Jones of Norman and Dr. Tad Seifert of Louisville, Kentucky; three grandchildren; Mallory and Hunter Jones and Charlie Seifert; sister and brother-in-law Brenda and J.C. Dixon of Aline; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, February 24th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Ladusau-Evans, weather permitting. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janet’s name can be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church-Niger Missions with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
