Jack Edwin Vion

Jack Edwin Vion was born in Enid, Oklahoma on November 2, 1935 to Jacqueline Potter Vion and George Edwin Vion. The family moved to Hawthorne, California during World War II. He graduated from Leuzinger High School in 1954 and briefly attended El Camino College until joining the Air Force from 1954 to 1958. After his military service Jack went to work at North American Rockwell where he worked until his retirement in 1992.

On February 24, 1962 he married Betty Lou Zaugh and they moved to Anaheim,CA where they had two daughters: Heidi in 1964 and Tammy in 1970. Jack was a great and tireless supporter in his girls school and girl scout activities. He was also busy helping Betty with many of her community and PTA events until her death in 1990 from ovarian cancer.

He spent the next decades very busy helping to raise his two grand children giving them all the love, guidance and encouragement they deserved. When he wasn't busy attending ball games with the grandkids he was traveling across the country to visit family and friends. In 2017 he decided to sell his home back in Anaheim, CA and came to Enid to reside with his youngest daughter. During these last few years he's enjoyed spending with his three great grandchildren and dog Harley.

Jack is survived by his two daughters, Heidi Vion of Corona, CA and Tammy Vion of Enid, OK; sister Mary Vion Hoover and her husband Roger Hoover of Coolidge, AZ; granddaughter Ryane Vion of Broken Arrow, OK; grandson Robert Vion and his wife Emily of Enid, OK; great grandchildren Axton Kinser of Buena Park, CA; Owen and McKenzie Vion of Enid, OK and many nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces.

There will celebration of life events at a later time here in Enid, OK and in California as a well the internment at the Riverside National Cemetary.

In lieu of flowers, Jack and his family request you consider donations to the Wounded Warriors Project and their families, the American Heart Association or Parkinson's Research Foundation.
