-
Herschel P. (Trip) Dosier was born June 1, 1946 to H. Price Dosier, Jr. and Janice Wheatley Dosier in Pampa, Texas and passed away on November 19, 2019 at his home in San Francisco, California.
-
He was raised in Pampa, TX and graduated from Pampa High School in 1964. Herschel worked as an accountant and in later years worked as a medical assistant. He attended the 3rd Baptist Church of San Francisco.
-
His main interests were playing the piano and organ, and he was an avid reader of medical, history and politics. Herschel will be remembered for helping many people from other countries learn to speak better English, he also helped people with different types of health issues.
-
In the last nine years he walked across the Golden Gate Bridge more than 650 times, which was very remarkable for someone who had stage 5 kidney failure and had been on dialysis for most of those years. There was a fabulous article that came out in California in 2015 that recognized him for walking the Golden Gate Bridge and with lots of prayers he lost over 100 pounds. In the article he described walking the bridge as being halfway between heaven and earth, and halfway between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. Within the last two years Herschel was unable to continue walking due to all of the massive fires in California.
-
Herschel is survived by his loving mother, Janice, of Enid; precious sister, Cheryl Newell and husband Richard of Vernon, TX; niece, Marci Hyde of Burlington, OK; nephew, Jason Watkins and wife Sheila of Enid; His lifelong friend, Zackie Salmon of Cheyenne, WY; His medical assistant and friend for five years, Glenis Burnett of San Francisco, CA; and His God Son, Randy Bruton of Plano, TX.
-
Memorials may be made to Davis Dialysis at 45 Castro Street South Tower 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94114 or Golden Oaks Village Chapel at 5801 N. Oakwood Road, Enid, Oklahoma 73703.
