Herbert Wayne Holder, 91, passed away on Wednesday October 1, 2025 at his home in Enid, OK.
Wayne, was born on September 5, 1934 in Meeker, OK to William Herbert & Mable (Johnson) Holder. He grew up in Ponca City, Marland, and Meeker. He graduated from Marland High School in 1952. He married the love of his life Lola Fern (Deboard) Holder on January 22, 1954 in Ponca City, OK.
Wayne, better known as Papa Homie, always loved to be in his happy place around his family at a sporting events, race track, golf course, or the lake. He never met a stranger and could always make new friends or find out he was related to them! He was an average golf player, but loved to work the side hustle at some gin games after playing a few holes. He worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas for 40 years.
Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Lola Fern (Deboard) Holder; Daughter, Phyllis (Holder) Parli; his parents William Herbert & Mable (Johnson) Holder; his siblings, Mary Louise Holder, Charles Holder, Helen Walker, & Christine (Chris) Landes; his maternal and paternal grandparents; son-in-law Stan Spears; Grandson, Bobby Spears.
Survived by his daughters: Cheryl Spears & Kristi Schapansky; Grandkids: Jason Parli & wife Doris, Ryan Parli & wife Helen; Amy (Parli) Witter & Husband Anthony; Kayla Schapansky & Jay Weber; Casey Schapansky & wife Jalyn. Great Grandkids: Logan Parli & wife Kirsten, Dorie Parli, Taylor (Witter) Williams & husband Connor, Heston Witter; Jacob and Brooklynn Spears; Emma, Izzy, & Gauge Weber; Koldyn, Jerrett, Jagar, Jaley Schapansky. Great Great-Grandchildren: Isla & Leon Parli; Scotland Williams, as well as numerous extended family & friends.
Pallbearers will be Casey Schapansky, Ryan Parli, Jason Parli, Kenny Smith, Jay Weber, & Anthony Witter. Honorary pallbearers will be Kayla Schapansky, Amy Witter, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids.
A Celebration of Life Service for Wayne will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry, OK. Family visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Meadowlake Golf Course or Oklahoma Heart Hospital.
