Herbert Lee Wiles

December 19, 1934 - July 1, 2025

Graveside services for Herbert Wiles, 90 of Enid, will be Thursday July 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Herbert was born on December 19, 1934, in Okemah, Oklahoma to Walter and Grace Wiles. He graduated from high school at Wynnewood, Oklahoma in 1953. After graduating, he worked in road construction with his dad. In 1957, Herb was inducted into the Army and served as an MP before being discharged in 1959.

He moved back to Oklahoma where he met and married Thelma Fain. They were married August 13, 1960. Herb raised her two sons as his own. Herb continued to follow road construction until 1969 and then he moved to Enid to be a mechanic in the oilfield. He worked for Chapparal Transports, W & S Well Service, Pool Well Service, and Hennessey Tool. He retired after 25 years from Permian Well Service.

He enjoyed getting in his truck and riding around and getting a cup of coffee at Holdings on Oakwood Road. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodges in Caddo, Ringwood, Enid 501, and a Past Master at Hennessey.

Survivors include sons Allen Fain and wife Kim of Enid, OK and David Fain and wife Tammie of Enid, OK; brother Rusty Wiles and wife Linda of Checotah, OK; nephew Willie Wiles and wife Krista of Checotah, OK; three granddaughters Vanessa Fain of Enid, OK, Suzy Hadden and husband Tommy of Oklahoma City, OK and Michele Crittenden and husband Brian of Moore, OK; three great-grandsons Tyler Anderson of Enid, OK, Thomas Cunnigham and wife Cynthia of North Little Rock, AR, and Kaleb Cunningham of Lowell, AR; 2 great-granddaughters, Ellie Cunningham of Lowell, AR and Ava Hadden of OKC, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, stepdad, stepmom, and his wife, Thelma.
