Herbert was born August 11, 1930 to George Herman Bolz and Luella Mae Bolz in Enid, Oklahoma and passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 23, 2021 in Covington, Oklahoma.

He Attended Sinclair grade school and left high school before graduating to join the Army in 1951., serving seven years. While in the Army he received his GED and in 2006 he had the honor of receiving his High School Diploma and walking across the stage at the Covington-Douglas School.

Herbert met his sweetheart Mittie Izora (Zoe) Roach and they were married on April 2, 1953 in Texarkana, AR. To this union three children were born; Keith, Marc and Annette.

He started his career doing farming and bailing hay, later working for Long’s Ford of Garber as a mechanic, and Long’s John Deere of Garber as a diesel and bailer mechanic. During his employment at Long’s, he also taught Diesel mechanics at Autry Tech. He owned Covington Automotive in partnership with son Keith and retired at 75 years old. He was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, hunting, cars, and had a life-long love for his pets.

His kids and grandkids value lessons learned in auto-mechanics and treasure all of the knowledge learned from him. He was usually found behind the video camera taking all of the grandkids important events from school, parades, graduations and all of the trips in the motor home. The grandkids remember spending hours at the automotive shop, always at the house playing, and vacations where he navigated all of the trips.

He was on the Covington City council, Trustee at the Methodist Church, a member of American Legion and lifetime member of the NRA.

Herbert is survived by his wife, Zoe; children, Marc and Marietta Bolz, Annette and David Booker, and Cindie Bolz; grandchildren, Sara Whitman Mitchell, Wes and Nikki Whitman, Matt and Ali Bolz, Mike and Kasey Bolz, Mason and Jenny Bolz, Mallory and Jeran Jones; great grandchildren, Peyton, Ella, Briley, Anna, Weston, Eli, Zane, Grayson, Audra, Tinley, Brynn, Kingston, Adam and Elijah; and many loved ones.
