Helen Jane Spencer

Celebration of Life service for Helen Spencer, 82, Enid, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2019, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar Vale Cemetery in Kansas under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen was born September 27, 1937, in Enid, OK to Robert Lee and Frances (Loughman) Dobbs, and passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019, in Enid. She was raised in Enid where she attended schools. Helen married Clyde Leon Spencer on December 29, 1951, in Wichita, KS. They made their home in Enid until 1960, when they moved to Cedar Vale, KS. where Helen ran the sale barn café in addition to being a wife and mother, raising three boys. Helen was the Waynoka Rodeo Queen in 1963. In 1985, they moved back to Enid where she worked at JC Penney’s, and the Enid State School. Helen attended Cowboy Church.

Helen is survived by two sons; Troy Spencer and his wife Robin of Jefferson, and Mark Spencer and his wife Carol of Belle Plain, KS, three grandchildren; Sheila, Cheyenne, and Donnelly; three great-grandchildren; Alexis, Michael, and Conner, and a sister, Joy Posey of Enid. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde, son, Justin, two sisters, and one brother.
