George Peoples Jr.

September 9, 1968 - April 10, 2023

Funeral service for George Peoples, Jr., 54, will be Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm in Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow with military honors by Vance Air Force Base Silver Talon in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

George was born September 9, 1968, in Orangeburg, South Carolina to George and Ruby Peoples and died on April 10, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with his family by his side. He spent most of his youth in Atlanta, GA. George graduated from high school in 1986 and on Oct 31, 1986, he joined the Air Force serving a total of 21 years, 7 months, 5 days, retiring in 2008. During his service he held numerous jobs to include:Air Force Recruiter, Traffic Management Augmentee,Travel Accounting Branch Chief, and Financial Analysis NCOIC and Financial Management Superintendent. George was stationed at Pope Air Force Base, Torrejon Air Base in Spain, Charleston Air Force Base, DFAS Dayton Ohio Air Force Recruiting Service, Lakenheath Air Force Base, Royal Air Force Base, Patient Wilford Hall Hospital, and finally Vance Air Force Base. George completed his Bachelors Degree in Business Management and Ethics from Mid-America Christian University. George’s greatest blessings were his children Taylor, Morgan, Josiah and Emma. Determined to teach them all things financial and how to always take care of themselves, he was the fun parent. He loved to take them to sporting events, amusement parks, the beach, and made sure there was always a party celebrating major milestones.

George had a passion for providing to those less fortunate. He served on the Salvation Army Board and dedicated countless hours volunteering, with the Angel Program being his favorite. In his free time he enjoyed the lake with friends and family, cars new and old, and most of all, the many travel adventures with Holly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby.

George is survived by his wife, Holly; children, Taylor, Morgan, Josiah and Emma; father, George Peoples Sr; brothers Kenneth and Walter Peoples; sister, LaKesha Peoples-Wheeler; in-laws, Mike and Debbie Read.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Salvation Army.
