Gene A. Druiett

The Celebration of Life for Gene A. Druiett will be held at a later date. Gene was born September 16, 1927 in Enid to William and Thelma Bousman Druiett. Gene went to his heavenly home Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Greenbrier Village Nursing Center. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

He graduated from Enid High School in 1945, and then joined the Merchant Marines. Gene married Bonnie Stewart April 6, 1947 in Enid. Bonnie preceded him in death in 2006.

Gene went to work for OG&E in 1947, retiring in 1987 as a multi-crew foreman. He was active and held many offices in Central United Methodist Church, now Willow View United Methodist Church.

Gene loved to sing gospel music and sang with the Messenger Trio for a number of years. Later he went to local nursing centers to share his witness and talent.

Those close to Gene knew of his love for the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He always had a beautiful lawn and an amazing garden. His sense of humor and the fun he had making others laugh will be missed by friends and family.

Surviving are his daughters, Vicki Mc Coy and husband Phillip of Enid, Kristi Hill and husband Gary of Woodward and Nancy King and husband Jim of Bentonville, Arkansas. Granddaughters, Jennifer Hedges and husband Ted, Simmie McGraw, Katie Martinez and husband Moises and Emily King. One grandson, Robert Heath and his special companion Shannon Parker. Great-grandchildren, Damon Heath, Brody, Allison and Brie Hedges, Kamdyn and Kassidy McGraw and other nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Donald Druiett and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through the funeral home to NW Domestic Services of Woodward and Willow View UMC of Enid.
