Gaslight Theatre to Host Community New Year's Eve Party

ENID, OK - Gaslight Theatre will host a community New Year's Eve party on Friday, December 31 from 9:00 p.m to 1:00 a.m. at the Stride Center grand ballroom.

"This event is open to everyone in the community and we hope they'll come ring in the new year with us," said Tammy Wilson, event committee member. "The theme for the event is Steampunk - Where the Past Meets the Future. We're currently in the midst of a capital campaign to raise funds for much needed updates at the theater. We want to preserve the integrity of the history of our beautiful building while securing it for many years to come, thus the theme of this year's event," Wilson said.

Steampunk is a style of design and fashion that combines vintage elements with technology. Attendees are encouraged to wear Steampunk themed costumes, but it is not required

Gaslight Theatre, a non-profit organization, is in its 55th season and is one of the most active community theaters in the state of Oklahoma, putting on productions throughout the year, including their annual free Shakespeare in the Park. They host children's drama camp every summer and have an active teen program.

There will be dancing and a cash bar, with a champagne bar for the midnight toast. Tickets are $75, two for $125, or tables for 6 are $375 and can be purchased at gaslighttheatre.org or in the box office at 221 N. Independence.
