EPS Names New Elementary Principals

ENID, OK - Enid Public Schools is pleased to announce Sarah Owens and Mary Withey as the Glenwood Elementary and Prairie View Elementary principals, respectively.

Their duties will begin on July 1.

Owens joined the EPS team in 2013 as an elementary teacher. She went on to serve the district as an Instructional Coach and has been the assistant principal at Coolidge Elementary since 2021. Withey began her career in public education in 2013 as a special education teacher in San Antonio, Texas. She came to EPS is 2021 as an Enid High School special education teacher and, beginning in 2022, has served as the Glenwood/Prairie View assistant principal as well as an EHS assistant principal.

“I am very excited to have both Sarah and Mary joining the elementary team as head principals,” said Randy Rader, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education. “Both Sarah and Mary have served as assistant principals at the elementary level and have proven themselves as strong leaders. They both bring with them a strong knowledge of the curriculum, a great work ethic, and the ability to build relationships with students, teachers, and the community. I look forward to watching them continue to grow in these positions.”

Owens earned her bachelor degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in elementary education in 2013 and received her masters of science in education leadership from NWOSU in 2016. She holds certifications in elementary education, elementary principal and secondary principal.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Glenwood community in my new position,” said Owens. “I would like to thank Dr. Darrow, Mr. Rader, and the Enid Public Schools Board of Education for the chance to be a part of this school and to support the students and families of such an amazing community. I look forward to building relationships with Glenwood's staff, students, and families.”

Withey received her bachelors of art from Louisiana Tech University in 2003 and later earned her master of art in teaching from Kaplan University in 2013 and her master of education in education leadership from the American College of Education. Withey holds certification in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Mild-Mod Disabilities, Severe-Profound/Multiple Disabilities, Elementary Principal, and Secondary Principal.

“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve as the new Elementary Principal at Prairie View,” said Withey. “Enid Public Schools has been a fulfilling and rewarding district to work for and I am confident that, together, we will continue to provide a transformative educational experience for our students.”

Owens succeeds James Rainey as the principal of Glenwood Elementary and Withey succeeds Sherri Hendrie as the principal of Prairie View Elementary.

EHS and Coolidge Elementary assistant principal positions will be posted at enidpublicschools.org/applytoday soon, and a thorough search will be conducted for the best candidates.
