ENID, Okla. - Newly hired Enid High Principal candidate, Clay Vinyard, notified Enid Public Schools that he will be unable to fulfill his obligation as the next principal of Enid High School. Vinyard has instead accepted a position as superintendent for a federally operated K-12 system.
-
This school year, Vinyard had been serving as principal of Putnam City High School, as well as a mentor for other principals across the state through the Oklahoma Principals Leadership Academy at the University of Central Oklahoma. He was to succeed Jim Beierschmitt, who was an administrator at EHS for 14 years and is now retiring.

At the time of his hiring Vinyard said, “I am really excited about the sense of community and positive culture of EHS, I have watched several YouTube clips created by the student body. I was captivated by the school pride highlighted in the videos. I am thrilled to be a part of the EHS family.”

Doug Stafford, Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education, notified EPS families on Monday night that the Board of Education has called a meeting for Monday, May 23 at 6:00 pm to approve the new high school principal.
-
During their search this spring, EPS had a pool of outstanding contenders including some local candidates. Stafford expressed excitement about the opportunity to name a uniquely qualified leader who will move EHS to the next level.
