EHS to Open Currie-Gregg Observatory

ENID, OK - Enid High School will officially open the Dr. Nancy Currie-Gregg Observatory with a special reception this week.
-
The event will be Tuesday, May 22 from 5-7 p.m., with a program slated for 5:15 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend.
-
EHS officials will honor local donors, Friends of the Observatory, and former astronaut Dr. Nancy Currie-Gregg, the observatory’s namesake, during the reception. With the help of the Friends of the Observatory, EHS has transformed the only high school astronomical observatory in Oklahoma. Improvements include a new mount and telescope, paint, new railing and more.

“We are extremely grateful to the many people who made this project possible,” Amber Graham Fitzgerald, Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications said. “The observatory provides a breathtaking outdoor classroom for our students, but it is also a community treasure. We are fortunate that it will continue to serve students for generations, thanks to these improvements.”
