Graveside services for Ed Pennington, 81, will be on July 3, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the Waukomis cemetery with Pastor Dale Jones officiating. Arrangements are made by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Edward Carl Pennington was born on January 19, 1944, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and passed away on June 24, 2025, in Enid, Oklahoma. He graduated from Fox High School in 1962 and attended Tulsa Welding Institute in 1963. In 1982, he returned to Tulsa Welding School to get his welding certification for the state of Oklahoma. In 1990-1992, he attended Autry Tech to obtain his airframe and power plant certification. He was a self-employed welder for most of his life. He was also employed as a detention officer for Garfield County Sherriff’s Department retiring in 2012.
Edward is survived by his wife, Nancy (Miller) Pennington of the home, son Quinton Pennington of Enid, Oklahoma, and daughter Rebecca (Pennington) Drennan and husband Tom of Waukomis, Oklahoma. He is also survived by Nancy’s siblings in Canada, Laura Miller, Judy Miller and Don LaViolette, Pamela Gallagher and husband Terry, Daniel Miller and wife Marilon, Anthony Miller and wife Katarina, and Donna Miller Wallace and husband Greg along with a niece, Laura Miller, and a nephew, Sasha Miller.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Faye (Keltner) Pennington; siblings Henry and Allen Pennington and his brother Steve Pennington who passed away on March 10, 2025, and nephew Patrick Gallagher.
Edward was a member of the Waukomis Christian Church and served as a diaconate, elder, and board member.
Edward enjoyed traveling and met Nancy at the Holy Land Hotel in Jerusalem, Israel in October of 1974 and they were married June 11, 1975, and celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 11, 2025.
The family is requesting no flowers due to health issues; donations may be made through Anderson-Burris to Rebecca Drennan.
