Earlene Curry

A spreading of ashes of Earlene Curry will be in southwest Colorado in mid-November at a private gathering of family.

Earlene Curry was born on October 20, 1927 in Walters, Oklahoma to James Leonard and Allie Lee (Edmondson) Thompson and passed away at the Hennessey Care Center in Hennessey, Oklahoma on October 27, 2017 at the age of 90.

She grew up and graduated in Temple, Oklahoma.

Earlene married the love of her life Bronc Curry on August 16, 1948. They would later settle in Thousand Oaks, California raising their three sons. She traveled many miles with Bronc on rodeo and team roping trips. After Bronc’s retirement from Shell Oil, they also lived in Antonito, Colorado, Hennessey and Kingfisher.

Earlene was the youngest of the eight children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bronc,in 1998, her parents, five brothers, Eugene, Ray, Arthur Lee, Clyde, Roy Thompson and two sisters, Opal Brown and Janell McNabb.

Earlene is survived by three sons, Hank and wife Paula of Gardnerville, Nevada; Hal of Santa Maria, California; Tom and wife Renee of Hennessey, Oklahoma. Four grandchildren: Abby Curry, Jack Curry and wife Nellie, Hali Curry, Katie Curry and two great-grandchildren John Angelides and Bronc Curry.

Bronc and Earlene’s cremains will be spread together in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Alzheimer’s Division.
