Donald Mac Kliewer

September 3, 1939 - April 7, 2023

Donald Mac Kliewer, 83, of Enid, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2023. He was greeted in heaven by his father Arthur Kliewer, mother Rose Marie (Pickens) Kliewer, Glenda Kay Campbell (mother of his eldest children), and granddaughter Meredith Scott. His big hugs and ready jokes will be missed by those he left here: wife Diane Kliewer of Enid, daughter Eloise Faubion (Jim) of Enid, son Rollie Scott of Belton, MO, daughter Amy Wicker of Douglas, daughter Christal Kliewer Weber (Dustin) of Lee’s Summit, MO, son-in-life Eric Carroll of Enid, his huge family and family of friends.

Don was born September 3, 1939 in McPherson, KS, but spent most of his child playing and working on the family farm near Longdale. He graduated from Enid High School in 1957 and went on to serve his country in the US Army. Learning the value of hard work on the farm, Don was always industrious in his youth. He worked jobs from ice cream sales to construction. Don spent 20 years in oilfield operations including 15 years with Dowell. A lifelong learner, Don went back to school to study HVAC systems and turned that into a second career. He eventually retiring from Advanced Foods after 19 years.

In his leisure time, Don love to read, fish, work Soduku puzzle, play softball, and play cards and games with his family. The thing he loved most of all was being a cheerleader for his grandchildren: Sandra Wiley (Richey) of Yukon, Clint Wicker (Katlin) of Waukomis, Miriam Scott of Belton, MO, Daniel Faubion (Amanda) of Waukomis, Wendy Swart (Jared) of Broken Bow, Becca Faubion of Enid, Makenzie Kroll (Matthew) of Stillwater, Kira Wicker of Lawrence, KS, Luke Wicker of Stillwater, and Morgan Weber of Columbia, MO. “Grandpa Don” was always cheering (LOUDLY) whether at a ballgame, dance recital, school program, or life in general!

Don’s family and close friends will celebrate the love, laughter, and light he shared with us all with a service on April 15, 2023 at 10am at Christian Church of the Covenant, 1205 S. Cleveland St, Enid, OK 73703. If you cannot join them but would like to honor Don, donations can be made to the Enid SPCA, Old Paws Rescue Ranch, or the church.
