Darren LittleCook

February 26, 1967 - January 24, 2022

On Monday evening, January 24, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, OK, Darren Brent LittleCook transitioned peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Darren was born on February 26, 1967 to Glen Edwin LittleCook and Marilyn Jean (Binkley) Mayhue. Paternal grandparents were Amos and Alice (Giveswater) LittleCook. His maternal grandparents were Lyle and Violet (Kissell) Binkley.

As a child, Darren was kind and gentle; a trait he would carry all his life. Darren never met a stranger. It seemed everyone he met was like a lifelong friend. He was loved by all who knew him. Darren enjoyed sports as a child and played football and basketball for Pioneer High School. As an adult, he played competitive softball, refereed local high school football games, and was an avid fan for all things OU.

After graduation, he attended college. Shortly thereafter he became a welder/fabricator; a profession and a career he would excel in. Along the way his creativity crept into his welding as he created unique pieces of metal art for family and friends. The large police shield that is displayed at the Enid Police Department is a sample of his talent.

Darren met and fell in love with Jo Charlene Miller. They married on June 17, 1994. Darren was a devoted husband and a loving father to daughters Kaylee, Corey and Morgan. He loved his family and spent countless hours coaching his girls in softball. Later on, as a proud grandfather, he enjoyed his grandchildren Mai, Baker, Orion and Vera.

Darren had a large family that loved and adored him. He was a member of the Ponca Tribe and descended from the Giveswater and LittleCook families. He also had four aunts and numerous cousins on the Binkley side of his family.

Darren’s large personality and spirit will be missed by all those he left to carry on his memory; His mother Marilyn, wife Charlene, daughters Kaylee & (Carl) Hall, Corey & (Taylon) Rowley, Morgan & (Bailey) Rowley, grandchildren Mai, Baker, Orion, Vera, brothers Chris & (Mindy) LittleCook, LittleBear LittleCook, sisters Donna & (Jeff) Maison, Nicki & (Adam) Vaughn, Tara LittleCook, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
