Chris E. Maly

July 11, 1970 - January 20, 2022

Mass of Christian Burial for Chris Maly, 51, of Garber, will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Mason celebrant. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Breckinridge, under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral home. Recitation of the Rosary will be Monday evening at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the Knights of Columbus leading.

Chris was born July 11, 1970 in Enid to Paul and Georgena Brezny Maly and died on January 20, 2022 in Enid.

He grew up on the family farm near Garber and graduated from Garber High School in 1988. Chris went to OSU Technology Center in Okmulgee on a full scholarship and graduated December 1990 with an associate’s degree in Diesel Technology. Chris worked for American Implement and P&K Equipment until going to work for Yellowhouse Machinery.

Chris joined the Knights of Columbus at the age of 18, and served as Grand Knight two consecutive terms. Chris joked that he had to step down as he had two kids at the time that he served as Grand Knight. In 2000, Chris and his family returned to the farm and built their home where he would bring home two more children.

Family was the most important thing to Chris. He even brought his kids to volunteer at the Knights’ events. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, listening to music and celebrating his Czech heritage. Anyone that knew Chris knew that he was always there to lend a hand whenever needed.

Chris is survived by his wife, Valerie; children, Tyler and wife Anna, Derek, Craig and Kirsten; grandson, Wyatt; parents, Paul and Georgena Maly; brothers, Matt Maly, Joshua Maly and wife Lora; sister and husband, Joan and Bill Dunlap; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to the Center of Family Love or 4RKids.
