The Funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Carlene Forbes, 81, of Enid will be held at 02:00 P.M. Friday February 21, 2020 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born on November 10, 1938 to Carl and Iris Pearl Felkner Forbes in Sentinel, Oklahoma and passed from this life on February 17, 2020 in Jones, Oklahoma.

She attended school in Thomas, Oklahoma where she graduated from Thomas High School. She then moved with her family to Enid, OK. at the age of nineteen. She worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Mary’s before beginning work at the Enid State School. On October 08, 2001 she married William “Bill” Mader in the Elco County Courthouse. She always enjoyed every friend she met while attending the Trinity Baptist Church. She loved to work and raise her garden, a skill she learned from her mother. She enjoyed fishing, and many adventurous vacations she took. She loved to dance, that’s how she met her husband Bill. She had a true love for all animals, and always had cats and dogs. Most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail Conley, son, Timothy Mize, granddaughter, Jamie Cook, great-granddaughter, Willow Grace McGee brother, Bill Forbes, sisters, Louise Gibson, Pat Forbes McCaugh, and Susan Forbes, and nieces, Angela, Savonna, Rolanda, and Lenia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Curtis McCaugh, and her infant son, Joey Isom.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Oklahoma Heart Foundation with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
