Brenda Peat

August 3, 1947 - November 7, 2022

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Brenda Peat, 75, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday November 14, 2022, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Waukomis Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Brenda was born August 3, 1947, to Earl and Eunice Bayne Shelton in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life November 7, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Enid graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1965. She achieved her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa. She married F.R. Boyd Peat in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1972, from this union came one son, Justin. She worked in the medical field in mental health records and billing beginning in 1971, she worked for Choices Institute, Millennium Institute, and The Oklahoma Department of Human Services where she retired from in 2021. After retirement she continued her own private medical billing practice. Throughout the years she attended several classes at Autry Technology Center including Human Resources Generalist and Networking Essentials to stay current with all of the changes. She enjoyed bowling, country western dancing, reading, and working crossword puzzles; her mind was always busy.

She is survived by her husband Boyd, of the home, son Justin Peat, of Enid, grandson, Eli Peat, of Enid, sisters Sheila Maner and Denise Gallagher, both of Enid; sister-in-law Nancy and Dr. Paul Lopez, of Corpus Christi, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Pam Thomas.
