Funeral service for Bonnie Szczepaniak will be Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10:00 am in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Bonnie was born on September 6, 1949 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Garland and Thelma (Derr) James and died on March 1, 2024 in Enid.
She grew up in Custer City, Oklahoma and moved to Enid at the age of 12. Bonnie graduated from Enid High School in 1967. She then went to Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. On August 15, 1970, Bonnie married Richard Szczepaniak in Enid and they made their home in Enid. Bonnie was a nurse’s aide for 37 years at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Richard and Bonnie was very active in Compassionate Friends, locally, regionally and nationally for many years.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Richard; son, Brad; and daughter, Angela.
Bonnie is survived by her granddaughter, Lillian Kendall; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Brad and Angela Szczepaniak Nursing Scholarship at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
