Billy Richard Heim

center-149x195-heim-billA Celebration of Life for Billy R. Heim, 80, of Enid, will be Thursday, November 10th, 2016, 2pm at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Tom House officiating. The interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. He passed away November 5, 2016.

Bill was born December 20, 1935 in Enid, Oklahoma. He graduated from Covington High School in 1954. He was married to Jean Wilkinson at the First Presbyterian Church, Enid, Oklahoma, May 27, 1955.

He started farming on his own when he was 17 years old and continued for the rest of his life with his family. He worked for Asplund Construction Company with his dad and also worked for Enid City Water Department. He then installed microwave generators and towers in 30 states for F. C. Walz in Denver, Colorado. He worked up to branch manager at American Optical of Enid, Oklahoma, winning numerous awards and many cruises. He later worked for Dr. D. W. Diehl as his optician for 19 years and worked in the optical business for a total of 46 years.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and was on the Evangelism board and was an elder for many years. He loved God and his church family. He loved to hunt quail, to travel and go boating and especially enjoyed his family.

He is survived by: Son David and wife Melinda of Covington with 4 grandchildren, Steven and wife Kaylea of Perry, Kathleen Smith and husband Steven of Perkins, Jonathan and fiancé Autumn of Enid, Matthew and wife Natalie of Covington, and 11 great grandchildren, Katherine, Ava, Emma, Adelyn, Lillian, Andrew, Max, Dallas, AJ, Madilyn, and Marrik. Son Michael of Enid with 3 grandchildren, Michele Reed and husband Troy of Enid, Rebecca Hammer of OKC, Max and wife Crystal of Enid, 7 great grandchildren, Case, Joe, Corbin, Lathan, Maddox, TJ, Jordan. Daughter Dr. Jennifer Heim-Ricciardi and husband Richard of Sedalia, Colorado and 1 granddaughter Kaitlyn.

He was preceded in death by Jean Heim, parents Elmer and Esther Heim.
