Betty Jean (Lincoln) Maxwell

The funeral for Betty Jean (Lincoln) Maxwell will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 16, 2017 in Memorial Park Cemetery Garden Chapel with Dr. Jarrett Banks officiating, under the direction of Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home.

Betty was born May 19, 1930 in Enid, OK to Roy Lee and Lorena Fay (Wylie) Lincoln, and passed away January 11, 2017. She attended Enid schools and graduated from Enid High School in May 1948 then attended Phillips University where she was a member of the Red Peppers, a school spirit group.

Betty married William Jean Maxwell on August 4, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Enid, making Enid their home. The couple recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.

She was employed by Eason Oil Company from 1950 – 1954, and then worked at the Enid Tag Agency from 1970 – 1977. She was a member of Central Christian Church where she served as a Christian Caregiver, and the Christian Women’s Fellowship and the Sooner Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Satellite 70 Homemakers Group for many years, and the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Betty is survived by her husband, William of Edmond; daughter, Sandra Kay May and husband, Dr. John May of Austin, TX; son, Colonel Jeffrey W. Maxwell (USAF, Retired) and wife, Myra Jean of Edmond; two grandchildren, Dr. Shannon May and Nicholas May.

Memorials may be made to OMRF with the Funeral Home acting as custodian of the fund.
