Best Steaks In Enid

ENID, OK - July 14, 2012 - Hey BuzzHeads! Welcome to our Best Steaks in Enid post from way back in 2012! We think it's time to do a new poll. As we work on finding the best steak in town please enjoy this list from a few years back.
-
Most everyone has an opinion when it comes to who serves their favorite steak. Some of us like a steak that is cheap no matter how it is cooked or what flavor it has. While others only want the best, and their steaks must be from select cuts of meat, marinated and served with vintage wines.
-
If you've lived in Oklahoma long you know that beef is a very large part of the local culture and eating steak is almost a rite of passage to some folks. So it normally isn't difficult to accumulate a quick list of restaurants that serve fillets, strips and tenderloins. The investigative part comes in when you've got to decide where to spend your money and who will give you the best value for your dollar.
-
An unscientific poll was conducted by the website EnidBuzz.com to answer the question of who has the best steaks in Enid, Oklahoma. This poll, conducted on Facebook, asked readers to list their personal favorite steak in town. This information was then combined with this writers own taste testing and the list of steak providers was narrowed down to a popular few. The bulk of the scoring below was based on this poll rather than any personal feelings the writer might have had.
-
From the smaller list of steak places a guide was established that included other factors such as atmosphere, price, attention to detail, consistency and service. These factors along with the poll results were then combined to give each eating establishment a score. These scores are how this article ranked the top steak places in Enid. You can take these results with a grain of salt and pepper but at least this should get someone started on their own quest for steak supremacy.
-
A few other criteria had to be met to make the list. The restaurant could not a be a national chain and the location had to be in Enid proper. Here is our list of the best steaks in Enid, OK. Some may not agree completely but this will give the travel going public a guide as to where they should stop for a fantastic steak.

Looking for a NEW #1 for 2017! New list announced soon!

-
1. On the Sidewalk Cafe - 114 W Randolph Ave
-
On the Sidewalk is known as a great date or anniversary location. The atmosphere is low key and the view of downtown Enid is fantastic. Known for an awesome ribeye that is tender and cooked to perfection, the Sidewalk also serves up a nice salad with each steak and they have a fine selection of wines.
-
Sidewalk is also a local favorite with its high ceiling and comfortable booths. To ensure that you get in for a terrific steak you will most likely want to make a weekend reservation for dinner. The staff is uber friendly and the service is swift. When you are trying to make an event downtown you can't beat the convenient location. The prices are good and bringing children is not a problem at On the Sidewalk.
-
2. Costello's - 600 S Cleveland St
-
Costello's came in with a very strong showing. If you want atmosphere and a pleasant dining experience this is one to check out. Eddie has been a popular chef in Enid for many years. The steaks are cooked to order and have a good flavor. The wine selection is decent and the decor is inviting. Prices are fair and the menu has a nice variety of food choices. Chef Costello also offers up a wide selection of specials that cannot be found anywhere else in town.
-
Costello's is a cozy lunch location for the entire family but offers a more adult ambiance dining experience in the evening. Don't rush in to Costello's and expect to be out in 45 minutes. It is a dining experience and may take you longer than expected.
-
3. Panevino - 124 W Randolph Ave
-
Panevino is a very nice restaurant not known as much for the steaks as for the pasta and tapas. When you do order a steak, the ribeye is an excellent choice. Always cooked to order and flavored just right Panevino is full of ambiance and character. The restaurant is located on the downtown square and has a very nice bar with friendly bartenders.
-
There is a cozy sofa area for conversation and this is an Enid favorite for girls night out. Panevino is great as an adult night out without the kids.
-
The portions are moderate so you'll always have room for one of their fancy desserts. The wine selection is great and from time to time you can catch a fantastic jazz trio playing. Reservations are recommended on the weekends.
-
4. Callahan's - 220 N Independence St
-
Callahan's most likely did not score high on the steak rankings because it does so many other things so well. Enid's true local pub, Callahan's is rich in British cuisine and foreign bottled brews. The steaks are definitely worth a try if you like beef and beer. With the unique menu selections that they have you'll be hard pressed to go there for a steak every time.
-
Callahan's has a spectacular pub interior with cozy booths, a wide open bar and an upstairs party area. Catch them on a weekend and you'll most likely have a tough time finding a seat but you'll be entertained with live music. The only thing missing at Callahan's is the room for darts.
-
A true pub experience, Callahan's is 21 and older but is now non-smoking.

Callahans is underrated and Costellos and Tia Juana very overrated here. Expect two hours for dinner at panevino and to be fair, although truly a very good steak, the bigotry of chacarros should be mentioned for the unwary.

I agree with BBB about Gary’s bigotry. I don’t care how good the steaks people should also know about how he treats people and it is not always because you have a hat on or are out of line it’s because he is a BIGOT.

The only place in Enid to have the best prime rib or steak and good beer. I always go there for steak.

Great Steak at an unexpected place….The Gas Station in Drummond. Well, actually you walk through the gas station into Henry’s Break Place for a good meal! Open Tues for a variety buffet, Fri night is catfish night, and Sat night is Steak Night.
