We look forward to her leadership skills building on the many successes achieved by Hoover Elementary over the past several years under the leadership of retiring principal Karen Heizer.”

According to Randy Rader, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Schools, Artman’s experience and leadership ability make her an excellent fit for Hoover School, which has received numerous accolades over the years, including the 2012 National Blue Ribbon School award.
-
“I am extremely excited to have Mrs. Artman join the elementary administrative team as principal of Hoover Elementary,” Rader said. “She has extensive experience as a classroom teacher at multiple levels and has proven her leadership as the assistant principal at Longfellow, as well as a school in Alaska. She will make a great addition at Hoover.”
-
During her career, Artman has assisted her schools and districts with needs ranging from curriculum and instruction to school improvement planning. She has attended numerous professional development trainings on the following topics: Great Expectations character education, English Language Learner teaching strategies and instructional technology resource, among others.
-
“I am proud to join the Hoover team,” Artman said. “There is a strong tradition of excellence, and I know it is the students, teachers, staff and parents that make Hoover a special place to work and to learn. They are hardworking, and everyone involved is committed to ensuring that students are successful. I look forward to being part of Hoover School and continuing to make our community proud.”
-
Artman earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma and her Masters of Educational Leadership from the University of Alaska.
-
Artman will succeed Heizer, who is retiring at the end of this school year after 38 years in education. Artman’s position as assistant principal at Longfellow Middle School will be posted at www.enidpublicschools.org/applytoday soon, and a thorough search will be conducted for the best candidate.
