Private family graveside service for Anna Mae Shaw, 101, will be Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Anna Mae was born on October 14, 1918 in Enid, Oklahoma to Fred and Beulah Chadd Carter and passed away on June 23, 2020 in Enid.

She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Goltry High School. On April 16, 1938, Anna Mae married Dwight Shaw in Hillsdale. They made their home on the family farm near Hillsdale. Anna Mae was a hard worker, a wonderful cook, enjoyed working in her flower beds and mowing her yard. She was a member of Hillsdale Congregational Church for many years. Anna Mae worked at Gray’s Clothing Store for 20 years as the bookkeeper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight in 1971; son, Larry; Daughter-in-law, Julie Shaw; son-in-law, Bob Schimon; three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her son, Harold Shaw of Enid; daughter, Karen Schimon of Carrier; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; sister, Freda Brawly of Hamilton, Montana; nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Golden Oaks for the care that Anna Mae received.
