Anna Boyette Hume, 58, of Stillwater, OK, passed away on March 14 the after a battle with cancer.

She was born Anna Lee Catherine Boyette on December 20,1965, to Clyde and Joan Garis Boyette in Enid, OK. Anna graduated from Enid Highschool in 1984. That same year, she met her husband and the love of her life, Mike.

Mike and Anna went on to share a wonderful life together, following Mike’s career from military service to various places around the country and finally settling down in Stillwater. There she worked for Stillwater Public Schools for 13 years before working at Oklahoma State University.

The couple raised four sons, Michael, Joshua, Eric, and Gabriel. Their exploits in school, sports, and military service made her beam with pride.

Anna had a heart of gold. That kind heartedness led her and Mike to welcome foster children into their home and care for more than thirty less fortunate kids, some for just an overnight stay, and some for several years.

Mike and Anna had plans to retire together on a piece of land outside of Guthrie that they called The Humestead. There she raised horses, goats, donkeys, cows, turkeys, and of course, her chickens. She told her husband that there was a thing called “chicken math”. Mike didn’t quite understand what that meant until he had to build another coop when the number of hens totaled more than 40.

Anna was preceded in death by her son Joshua, who she will join in heaven and be laid to rest next to. She is survived by her mom, Joan Garis Boyette, Her Dad, Clyde Boyette, Her husband Mike Hume, her son Michael and his Wife Jordan, Joshua’s widow Natalie, her son Eric, and her son Gabe. She has five grandchildren, Joshua’s daughter Kailee, and Michael’s sons Dayton, Camden, Miles, and daughter Journey.

Please keep Anna and her family in your prayers during this difficult time.
