Barbara June Banta

January 22, 1948 — May 17, 2026

The family of Barbara June (Seeley) Banta, 78, of Enid would like you to join them in a celebration of life officiated by Reverend Gail Edmison and Reverend Doyle Seeley at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Enid. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Barbara was born January 22, 1948, in Wetumka, OK to Albert and Rachel (Franks) Seeley, the sixth of seven children, and passed from this life on May 17, 2026.

Barbara attended Wetumka Public Schools then went on to graduate from Deer Creek High School when her family briefly moved to the area. While in high school, she met a handsome young man, H.A. Banta, the love of her life. They married on May 28, 1966, and to this union two children were born, Stacy Denette and Jason Wade.

Family was everything to her and she spent the early years being a homemaker. Later, she pursued her degree in early childhood education, graduating from OSU. She went on to teach third grade for close to 30 years. Students thrived in her classroom and parents requested her year after year.

She was a beautiful, kind and gentle person who loved cooking for her family and working in her yard and garden. She was a talented seamstress and sewed many outfits, uniforms and Halloween costumes for her children, most of which were mistaken for store bought. Being with her husband and family brought her greatest joy

She provided her grandchildren with endless years of love, life lessons, pool parties and family vacations.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Stacy Overton of Enid, her grandson Jordan Cline and husband Rod of Edmond, grandson Trevor Miller of Enid, and granddaughter Megan Thompson and husband Tommy of Stillwater. Her great-grandchildren Lakelynn, Avalynn and Bennett Thompson also survive her. Two brothers, Doyle Seeley and wife Lou of Chandler, OK and Loel Seeley and partner Allen Dean of Oklahoma City. Plus, many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband H.A., her four-year-old son Jason, parents Albert and Rachel Seeley, son-in-law Jay, sisters Joyce Hill and Melva Ledbetter, brothers Harold Seeley and Darrell Seely.

Memorial contributions in Barbara's name may be made to Alzheimer's Association with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory serving as custodian of the funds.
