Robert Niles

July 28, 1935 — December 1, 2025

A Celebration of Life Service for Robert L. "Bob" Niles age 90 of Enid will be 1:00 pm Friday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Devon Krouse and Rev. Hagen Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Bob was the third son born July 28, 1935, in Cherokee, OK to Bonney E. and Gertrude K. (DuVall) Niles and passed away December 1, 2025, in St. Mary's Hospital. Bob attended all 12 years of school at Hillsdale, OK graduating in 1953. He played basketball and baseball. Bob was awarded a 4-year basketball scholarship at Northwestern Oklahoma State College and a double major in Industrial Arts and Business graduating in 1957.

On April 18, 1957, Bob married Jane Ann Wight at the Hillsdale Congregation Church. To this marriage, three children were born Rob, Robyn Ann, and Sid. Bob taught school and coached baseball and basketball for 31 years at Perkins, Okarche, and Enid, OK. While coaching at Okarche, Bob's girls' basketball team went to the finals of the regional tournament. Bob's Okarche boys' basketball team won the county tournament three years in a row, scoring, 103, 105 and 107 and that was before the 3-point shot. Bob kept in contact with his former student athletes. Bob did College graduate work at University of Oklahoma, University of Central Oklahoma and Northwestern Oklahoma State University. While teaching, during the summer, Bob and Jane Ann did custom wheat harvesting from Southern Oklahoma to Northern Nebraska for 21 years. Later, Bob farmed their land near Hillsdale raising cattle, and wheat.

Bob was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was active in the TNT Sunday school class since 1968.

Bob is survived by his wife Jane Ann, children Rob Niles and wife Darla, daughter Robyn and husband David Hobbs and son Sid Niles and wife Nancy, grandchildren Bethany Niles Hayes and husband Gage, Jackson Hobbs, Grant Niles, and Ava Hobbs, sister Darlene Eckstein and several other family members.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bruce and Tom Niles.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church with Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
