Nona Toy Hoskins

A graveside service for Nona Toy Hoskins, 89, formerly of Lawton, will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 11:00 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Toy was born July 31, 1928 in Lawton, OK to Milford and Leona Wood Walker, and passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in Enid.

She graduated from Lawton High School in 1947 and attended Cameron College. She met and then married Boyd Hoskins in 1949. As an adult, Toy was a Water Safety Instructor at Doe Doe Park for 27 years. She was Den Mother, Camp Fire Leader, costume maker and mom to the universe of her children’s friends. Even within a week of her death, she would ask visitors, “Did I teach you how to swim?” She moved to Enid in 1998 to be near her daughter and lived there until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a grandson, Daniel Earnhardt. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Mickie Giberson and her husband Paul of Enid, Oklahoma; Richard Hoskins of Plano, Texas; and David Hoskins and his wife Cheri, also of Plano. Her grandchildren all have their special memories and will miss her: Stephanie Giberson, Jennifer Pearsall (Phil), Timothy Hoskins (Jasmine), Michael Hoskins (Stephanie), Keli Jacewitz (Stefan), Jason

Earnhardt and Chase Hoskins. She knew all of her great-grandchildren and spoke of them often: Mason Hayoz, Rylee and Raegan Pearsall, Shaolin Hoskins, Evelyn and Brianna Hoskins, Max, Tytus and Justyn Jacewitz and Tyler Earnhardt.

A memorial fund is in place at Central Christian Church, 1111 W. Broadway, Enid, OK 73703.
