Jim was born in Enid, Oklahoma on December 26, 1930 to Fred and Reacie (Preston) Reddick, and passed away November 7, 2018 in Euless, Texas.
He attended Enid Public Schools, graduating in 1948. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He attended Phillips University where he majored in business. He worked for Champlin Petroleum Company for over thirty years. While working for Champlin, he met the love of his life, Lora Brown, and they were married November 25, 1961, three months after their first date, and they had two daughters, Sonja and Rhonda.
-
Jim loved to garden, to travel, watching westerns on TV, the Texas Rangers and the Oklahoma Sooners. In his later years, “Pop”, as he was known by many, enjoyed nothing more than a plate of pancakes. His photo was often shared on social media smiling over his latest stack of pancakes.
-
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Reacie Reddick; his wife of 43 years, Lora Reddick; three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Sonja and Rhonda Reddick, of Euless, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends. He is also survived by his constant companion, Annie, his beloved mini Aussie; and his not as beloved cat Tizzy.
-
In lieu of flowers, the family asks if you would enjoy a plate of pancakes in Pop’s memory, or even better, pay it forward, and buy someone a stack of pancakes.
