Curtis John Meyer

A Celebration of Life for Curtis Meyer, 90, of Enid, will be 2:00pm Thursday February 7, 2019 at Willow View United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark McAdow officiating. Burial will be at 11:15am in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Curtis John Meyer was born February 21, 1928 in Hillsdale, OK to John and Marie Meyer and passed away January 28, 2019 in Edmond, OK. He graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1946. He married Obera Fae Koehn on May 10, 1947 and they shared 64 years together. Curtis was a farmer and custom harvester for over 30 years.

He was a member of Willow View United Methodist Church. Curtis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports. He and Obera were avid fans of many Enid and surrounding area sports teams. Most of all they loved watching their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. Curtis loved spending time with his family and in 2014 he moved to Edmond, OK to be closer to them.

He is survived by his four children, son, Terry Meyer and wife Sara of Payson, AZ; three daughters, Pam Lumen of Edmond, OK, Kristi Kretchmar and husband Doug of Harrah, OK, and Brenda Morgensen and husband Randy of Edmond, OK; 10 Grandchildren, Kirsten (Jay) Campbell, Jason (Kelli) Meyer, David Meyer, Brianna (Dustin) Davison, Quinn (Amanda) Lumen, Jay (Rachael) Kretchmar, Taylor (Cody) Young, Andrew Morgensen, Chris Morgensen, and Alana Morgensen; 16 Great-Grandchildren, Austin, Avery, Ashlyn, Carson, Kylie, Olivia, Brecklyn, Everleigh, Greta, Bonnie, Kate, Leo, Lucy, Jordan, Jaiden, and Mya. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Obera Meyer, his parents, and his sister, Norma Koop.

The family would like to especially thank the staff at Tealridge Living Center and Physicians Choice Hospice.

Memorials can be made to Willow View United Methodist Church or Hillsdale Christian School with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as the custodian of the funds.
