William “Bill” Webster Miller

OI674383039_WilliamMillerPictureWilliam “Bill” Webster Miller entered into God’s eternal care on March 26, 2016 in his home in Blackwell, Ok. Bill was born on August 3, 1924 in Waldron, KS to Minnie Mae (Davis) Nelson and Everett Harrison Miller. Bill grew up and attended Blackwell Schools. Bill entered into the Navy between 1943-1946 where has was assigned the rank of Ensign First Class and served in World War II.

He married the love of his life, Audrey Eva Morphis, on August 8, 1950 in Freeport, TX. Shortly after they were married, the couple returned to Blackwell to begin their married life. Their loving marriage lasted 65 years.

Upon moving to Blackwell, OK, Bill began working for a trucking company for about a year. He was then hired by Morgan Oil and Drilling where he was a faithful, loyal and hard working employee for 30 years. After the closure of Morgan Oil and Drilling, Bill began working for Blackwell Steel and worked their until it closed. He then began working for Speed King until it closed. After the closure of Speed King he began working at Mertz in Ponca City, OK where he was a welder. He worked there until he retired in 1982. During his retirement, he and his grandson, Justin Glenny, opened a bait shop together. The two shared many happy times together in the bait shop. Bill also worked as a crossing guard for the Blackwell Public School system beginning in August of 2003. A job he enjoyed dearly and shared with his wife Audrey. Bill resigned from the crossing guard position in August of 2014 due to declining health. It was a most difficult decision for him.

In 1951, they were blessed with a daughter, Sherry Gayle. A few years later, a son was born, Ray Howard in 1953. In 1955, the two were blessed with yet another son, Bill “Skip” Webster, and in 1957 they were blessed with their last child, Reginald Neal. Bill was totally dedicated to his family and worked tirelessly to care and provide for them.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, Garin Todd Glenny and six siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Miller of the home, sister, Madeline Miller of Blackwell, OK, daughter Sherry Glenny and her husband Stan of Blackwell, OK, son, Ray Miller of Claremore, Ok, son, Skip Miller of Blackwell, OK, and son, Reggie Miller and his wife Carmen Miller of Blackwell, OK. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Justin Glenny and his wife Jill of Blackwell, OK, Brandon Glenny of Ponca City, OK, Colby Glenny and Alli Woodbury of Blackwell, OK, Heath Miller and wife Jerricho of Enid, OK, Jared Miller of St. Louis, MO, Crystal Marble and husband Tracy of Abilene, KS, Becky Lorg and husband Danny of Blackwell, Randy Lively and wife Natalie of Ponca City, OK and 13 great grandchildren, Cody and Kenzie Glenny, Blackwell, OK, Tommy Glenny, Ponca City, OK, Kadyn Stuteville, Erica, Kyle, Gavin, and Gerrick Gensicke all of Abilene, KS, Landon, Kylie and Emmy Lorg, Blackwell, OK and Collier, Kaytum and Jordan Lively, Ponca City, OK. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Blackwell.
