150x204-Wright, Virginia LeeA Celebration of Life service for Virginia Lee Wright, age 89, of Enid, is 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Reverend Scott Whittenburg will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Virginia Lee Wright was born on July 10, 1926 in Enid, OK. She was the youngest child of James Walter and Elfreida Louise Hoeltzel Williams of Enid.
She grew up in Hillsdale, played basketball for Hillsdale High, and graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1944. She married Cyril Wright, her brother’s best friend, on August 12, 1946 and they were happily married for 68 years until Cyril’s passing in 2014. After marriage they established their home in Enid until moving to North Enid. After retirement they moved to Enid where they remained until their passing.

She worked for a short time at Vance Air Base during World War II, where she got her job by parallel parking a jeep. She worked for Southwestern Bell during the time they switched to dial tone. She spent 28 years working for Chisholm Public Schools as the Business Manager, retiring in 1986. She was devoted to her husband and two sons. She never missed a ballgame in which they played from little league through their high school careers. She was an avid square dancer and was a member of the Dudes and Dolls Square Dance Club for many years. She also was a member of the Thunderbird Camping Club. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Post Office and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Texiana Club and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was baptized Christmas Day 1927 at St. Paul’s Lutheran church and remained a lifelong member of St. Paul’s. She was married at St. Paul’s and worked tirelessly for the church during her entire adult life.

She is survived by her children: Mike and his wife, Kelley of Enid and Tim and his wife, Janet of Broken Arrow. Her Grandchildren are: Meredith Wright of Tulsa, Whitney Wright of Jenks, Jason Wright and wife Allison of Bixby, and Jennifer Stickney and husband Michael of Tulsa. Great grandchildren are: Jake and Caden Wright, and Siler and Grayson Stickney.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Brothers Gilbert Eugene and James Wesley Williams and her beloved husband Cyril.

Memorial contributions can be given in the name of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
