Ronald Henry Cremers

Ronald Henry Cremers, of Ponca City, passed away peacefully on 4th day of May, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was 83 years of age. He passed on the anniversary of his mother’s death, 39 years ago. A Holy Rosary will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday evening, May 8, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning, May 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ponca City under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors, Enid. Committal prayers and interment will be held privately at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Ron was born on April 17, 1934 on a farm east of Ponca City to Henry and Barbara Cremers. He was the youngest of 5 children who were raised in a loving home with a strong Catholic faith. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School. On November 5, 1954 he married Kenny Lou Powell and to this union six children were born. He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea for several years. Upon return home, he worked for Murray Service Station, Ames Company and Continental Carbon from where he retired after 25 years of service. On September 4th, 1987 he married Linda Wallace. Ron enjoyed being with Linda at home on their ranch, tending to his cattle and garden. He maintained amazing pecan and fruit trees and enjoyed sharing things he had grown with his friends and family. He was a true and lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. He met many friends at the YMCA and in later years he looked forward to visits with his coffee buddies there. He had an onery personality that will truly be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; one sister, Phyllis Moriarity of Ponca City, seven children; Chris Cremers and wife Peggy, Matt Cremers and wife Martha, Greg Cremers, Debbie Thomas and husband Ted, Julie Vap and husband Gary, Ron Cremers and wife Michelle all of Ponca City, and James Wallace of Stillwater. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren: Kyle and Zach Cremers, Branden and Blake Connelly, Blaine and Brenton Cremers, Brittany Daine, Kara and Parker Thomas, Jacob, Caleb, and Daniel Vap, Jordan, Morgan, Trey, and Torran Cremers, and Josh and Nick Wallace, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Cordelia Lynn and Betty Massaro, one brother, Laddie (August) Cremers, and a granddaughter, Korban Cremers. “He lived, he died”.
