The funeral service for Paul W. Shumate, 53 year-old Enid resident, will be 10:00am Monday, December 14, 2015 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Gary Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Paul was born December 14, 1961 in Enid to Bill and Dortha (Hickerson) Shumate and died Friday, December 4, 2015 in Enid. He attended local schools graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1979. After graduation, he worked in the Oklahoma Oil fields for several years. He later worked as a driver for numerous wrecker services in Enid. He was employed with Green Wrecker Service for the last several years. He also owned and operated his own business “Headliners By Me” for many years.
He was a C.B. radio enthusiast and liked to work on cars in his spare time.
He is survived by his brother, David Shumate and wife, Susie; nieces and nephews, Alyssa Shumate; Jason and Shannon Shumate; Kera Cornforth; and Brian Clark; great nieces and nephews, Kamryn and Kacie Shumate; Ethan Cornforth; Soren Samples; Zac and Flora Jones; and Joshua and Matthew Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark.
Memorials may be given through the funeral home to OMRF (Cancer Division).
