Paul D. Gray Jr.

center-149x195-Gray, Paul D JrPaul D Gray, Jr, 66, of Enid, Oklahoma, formerly of Paris, TX, passed from his earthly body on Thursday, September 1. 2016 surrounded by his adoring family. Services celebrating his life will be held at 6 pm, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Enid, Oklahoma. A private family burial will be held, Monday, September 5, at the Letitia Community Cemetery near Lawton, OK under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Paul was the first born to Paul and Reba Gray in Duncan, OK on February 27, 1950. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1968, and joined the Air Force in 1969 where he served four years. He married Rosalie Ligon on October 7, 1972. Paul was a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, earning his Bachelors of Science. Paul began his career with the U S Army Corp of Engineers in 1977 and retired in 2005, after serving as Project Manager of Pat Mayse Lake for 24 years. Throughout those years, Paul was a huge part of the local Paris youth basketball league, and refereeing high school basketball all over North East Texas, and leading RA’s for his local church in Paris, TX. Paul was a member of the Baptist Faith and took seriously his love for Christ. He taught the 60’s Men’s Class at First Baptist. His greatest pride was leading others to Him and telling of Christ’s love for all.

Paul was an excellent bow hunter and great competitor. He loved an adventure and regularly set off on a vacation with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a gifted athlete and enjoyed hunting with his brothers and sons-in-law, fly fishing, hiking, shooting his bow, golf, and playing with his seven grandchildren. He loved a challenge and gave 100 percent to all that he did.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Paul D. Gray and his grandparents, Anice and Clarence Gray and Homer and Ava Taylor.

Paul is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rosa Gray, daughters, Sarah Brown and husband, Rusty of McKinney, TX and Rebecca Evatt and husband, Kent of Enid, OK. His mother, Reba Gray, his brothers, Steve Gray and wife Page, Mike Gray and wife Shelly, and Mark Gray and wife Diane all of Duncan, OK. His grandchildren, Hannah, Mallorie, Ava and Jeffrey Brown of McKinney and Holly, Bree and Jay Evatt of Enid, OK and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Nurses and Doctors of St Mary’s Hospital in Enid for their constant care and kindness to the family throughout this difficult time. And to their many friends from Church for surrounding the family with prayer, food and wonderful uplifting words during this sad time.
