Odie was born on March 20, 1952, in Enid, OK. He was raised on a farm outside of Carrier, and he graduated from Carrier High School in 1970. While growing up, Odie was active in the Carrier FFA, where he loved to show livestock, and in Carrier athletics. Odie went on to attend college at Northern Oklahoma College. He worked in the natural gas industry for 36 years, and retired in 2015 as the Director of Natural Gas Measurement for Chesapeake Energy.

Odie freely gave to those in need, and this continued until the very end, when multiple individuals received the gift of Odie’s decision to be an organ donor. He loved to make others laugh, and he always had a new joke ready. Odie was passionate about baseball, and amazed others with his knowledge of the game. Odie could fix anything that was broken, and he was constantly repairing engines for friends. He was happiest while at the ballpark or gymnasium watching one of his children or grandchildren compete. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and he always looked forward to his next trip to the mountains of New Mexico. Above all else, Odie loved being with his family and friends, where he was always quick with his warm smile and big hug.

Odie was devoted to his family, and he is survived by his mother, Colleen Quigley of Enid, OK; his son, Brice Quigley and wife Tammy of Enid, OK; and his daughter Miranda Long of Oklahoma City. He was the proud grandfather of Jesse Quigley and wife Miranda, Zakk Quigley, Aubrey Long and Charley Long; and the proud great-grandfather of Grayson Quigley.
