There will be a private family memorial and a public celebration announced later for Lewis W. Forbes, 65 year-old Enid resident. Through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Lewis was born May 7, 1960 in West Point, New York to Lewis and Glenna (Swank) Forbes and died Wednesday, November 12, 2025 in St. Mary's Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He attended Wichita, Kansas schools and graduated with the class of 1978.
On December 26, 1981 he married Shirley Buchanan in Wichita. The couple moved to Kinsley, KS. where Lewis began his over 40 year career with Wilbert Vault Company. The re-located to Oklahoma City for a few years before settling in Enid where Lewis was the plant manager at the Enid Wilbert location.
He loved to ride his motorcycles and spend time with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, of the home, his children: Andrea Scurlock and husband William, Paul Forbes and wife Chandace, and Nicole Forbes and long-time partner Brian Unruh. 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are his mother Glenna Bogue, a brother Marty Forbes and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with a host of friends.
Lewis was preceded in death by his father.
