Leola Ann Sims Choate went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at her residence. Leola was the daughter of Robert Sims and Vivian Cook Sims. She was born on September 8, 1944 in Tahlequah, OK. Leola married Eldon Dittmeyer and from this union two children were born, Teresa and Steven. Later Leola married Harold Choate and from this union a son, Harold Jr. was born.
Leola grew up in the Stillwater, OK area moving to Enid, OK in 1962 where she worked in Winchell’s Donuts, McCartney’s, Riley Bicycle Plant, Short Stop, and 20 years at Mid-Continent Packing in quality control, retiring in 2015. Family was always important to Leola raising her children and being involved with them and extended family were her life. She was always a quiet person, but enjoyed bowling and bowled in a league for 30 years, She also enjoyed playing Bingo, and day trips to the lake as a family.
Leola is survived by her three children: Teresa Vickers, Steven Dittmeyer, and Harold Choate; 7 grandchildren; three great granddaughters; three sisters: Naomi Eubank (Jerry), Stella Smallwood (Howard) and Roberta Babb (Ray); one brother: Ira Earl (Rita); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She will be missed by many in this life.
Leola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eldon; two brothers: Wendell Robert Sims, Jerry James Sims; two sisters, Sandra Warrington and Glenda Bradt and infant daughter, Rhonda Woods.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with (PASTOR) officiating.Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors, 2420 N.
